Absolutely loved the menu! From start to finish it was fantastic. Went with three mates so we literally ordered one of each dish.
Started with the lovely nutty huge olives. Quickly followed by the deliscious olive tapanarde which whether we were meant to or not we ate with the rosemary bread (which could have been just a smidge more garlicy - but we are a garlic loving crowd!). This was accompanied by the lovely anti pasta with beautiful meats and bruschetta (a little more oil on the bread would have been nice, though was something we easily redified at the table).
Our waiter was superb and brought us one of all the main courses. As we wanted to try everything he carefully portioned it all out for us. The 4 seasons pizza was good and thin, simple, with the ham and artichoke sections being the most popular. The pumpkin risotto was the star dish though. “Unctious!” was how one friend described it. It had a wonderful texture and was lovely and sweet. Utterly fantastic and a great change from the normal rissotto choices. The saltimbocca was also very popular although we were surprised it was not veal. The sausage and broccoli pasta was great with super seasoning and lovely texture and a zingy bite of chilli. An improvement on a pasta luganica. The sea bream was a lovely lighter choice too though watch out for the bones, of which there were many.
We were completely full by pudding but still had one of everything. All equally popular. The pistachio ice cream was deemed very subtle and lovely, the chocolate pastry was boozy and fabulous and the stac. Ice cream with coffee espresso was deemed a huge success and lovely contrast of hot and cold, textures and flavours. And our lovely waiter kindly brought me a mango sorbet as I am allergic to milk.
The menu is a great success! And made even better by fantastic staff! My friends and I have loyally been dropping in to this Strada for years and it is lovely to see that it retains its wonderful staff quite well.
Thank you very much from all of us!
