The food we had was delicious. As a born and bred Italian I was thrilled to visit Strada again.

We were welcomed by a juicy plate of green olives from Sicily which had a buttery sweet taste and were a great start to the meal. The Schiacciatella glio flat bread followed accompanied by the antipasto. The Schiacciatella was crunchy and the garlic oil was perfect with the mixed antipasti. The highlight was definitely the juicy, melt-in-mouth buffalo mozzarella and the tangy yet tasty tapenade.

We had to leave some space for the mains obviously, which consisted in the Risotto Zucca (one of the best I have ever had at a restaurant, like mamma used to make it! Sweet and perfectly cooked!), Strozzapreti Pugliese (al dente although fairly spicy, possibly too much for my taste), Quattro Stagioni pizza (perfectly crunchy, melting mozzarella and tasty toppings), Orata al Forno (well-presented, albeit slightly undercooked) and penne with vegetables and buffalo mozzarella (lovely sauce, delicious mozzarella but slightly overcooked pasta for my taste; I am a quite fussy pasta eater, being brought up in Italy…!).

The desserts were the perfect ending to a delicious meal: the affogato was simply divine. Sweet but not too much, with a crunchy “kick” to it. The Bunet piemontese was very good too, although quite boozy (it did come with a warning though…!) and the pistachio gelato was scrumptious, perfect consistency.

It was a delight to come and taste these delicious meals from Strada!

Can’t wait to to do it all over again.
